It has been approved a project for a high-speed train line linking Madrid and Barcelona to pass underground close to theTemple of the Sagrada Familia (Patrimony of the Humanity by UNESCO).
Jordi Bonet, the architect responsible for the completion of Antoni Gaudí’s Sagrada Familia in Barcelona, has denounced plans to build an underground railway line just metres away from the basilica’s foundations because the problems that could be caused to the Sagrada Familia.
Despite of there are different alternatives, the project continues with the actual route for the original railway.
